Hi Norma,
How are you? We got lucky during last weeks storm and were one of the few in town who didin't lose power. I couldn't imagine taking Clivey (my 2 year old autistic son) to a motel or shelter. We had 4 family members who lost power and stayed a few days with us. I hope you got through the storm OK.
Hi Trish.. I'm doing good.. how about you? I saw where you live in Radcliff.. and I have a male friend who lives there.. but he is getting ready to move to Louisville. He was in the Army and so doing his reserve time now.. I went up to visit him in Feb of 08 and he showed me around Radcliff and Etown.. and parts of Louisville..even took me into Fort Knox.. Radcliff and Etown are more suited to me, but I didnt care much for Ft. Knox and especially not being on the base there. He thought it was funny that I had several officers flirting with me and all I wanted to do was run..lol. I felt so out of place and as soon as I could, I ran and hid in the bathroom..lol. I've never been around that many people openly carring guns and god knows what else and had my nerves on edge.. but the people were for the most part friendly. The ones flirting with me were nice as well.. but while they were interested in me, I really wasnt interested in them for anything of a long term relationship. Which no doubt what they were looking for...ugh. I've even had a few find me online.. geez..
So far I've managed to keep my single status at single.. I was married for 14 years to a man who ended up abusing me mentally and emotionally. So it is understandable my reasonings for not being willing to be into any kind of a commited relationship at the moment. I'm enjoying my single status and just being myself.
Hi Donna,
I havn't been on Fort Knox in a few years. With me not being military it's not easy getting on base and I really don't have a reason to go. I was also in an abusive relationship for 10 years before I finally got out. Then I met Eric who is absolutely wonderful. We have been together almost 6 years now and have a 2 1/2 yeard old son. I am very happy with our relationship and even though he is ready to get married I am not that worried about it. Things are going very well the way they are. You sound like you are very happy being single and thats whats important. Talk to you soon!
